A three-hour tour
On a long-forgotten TV show, strangers set out on a three-hour tour that lasted for many seasons. Somehow there were changes of clothes for some of them and they never seemed to age. Sadly, they lost their original means of sailing and had to adapt to a semi-deserted island adventure with silly skits. On occasion, life mimics this particular scenario. I am off on a little adventure with you now. I don’t mind thinking about my life in three-hour increments. Starting small has advantages. The recent past is not yet buried, and the future is just around the corner. I honestly think that my life has many funny skits most days. Being on my own semi-deserted island is the foundation of this week’s topic.
Let’s start with breaking down today into what is directly within an arm’s length. Noticing close-by parameters helps me focus. If you have any type of issue staying attentive, you should enjoy this. We have permission to not take notice of what is not in our range. It’s like what happens when you go to see a movie in a theater. You stay engaged with that big screen because your field of vision is controlled. And there is popcorn. Join me every day this week. Break down your day into manageable bite-size pieces. Notice your physical feelings in the morning, afternoon and evening. When is your life more comfortable? I am at my best in the morning and slowly slide into a droopy human in the afternoon. Take note that I asked if your life was comfy. Being able to pinpoint when we are more capable of being a decent human permits us to use time with more grace. And grace towards us must come first.
You are Extraordinary!
Week 2: This week, close down that big life. Be determined to track the components of your day to see where you like yourself the most. Did you notice anything at all?
This particular task took me a couple of days to get used to because I kept forgetting about it. But gradually I realized that examining me in my actual life was something I was not used to because I was too busy watching everyone else in theirs.
What about you?
