Abracadabra

See it all

It’s good to think about disappearing. Whether you become invisible by choice for self-care or become invisible for what occurs outside of you are two distinct matters. When you make that bold leap to disappear from your everyday life to examine it more closely, there is some preparation involved to detach from as many daily processes built into a routine as possible. Some stuff continues but it can morph. Maybe that continuing breakfast you grab each morning becomes a new consumable. Your life. Your minuses and pluses. Your brain will crack open a little. That’s a sign to know that you may be in a rut. But those new brain connections will feel pretty good because you actively chose them. Becoming invisible to the outside world can involve doing good works without acknowledgment, actively completing little acts of kindness for those closest to you or finally deciding what you want to support in the world. There is so much to choose from but reaching outside this time will help connect with something inside of you for meaning. No tax benefit is okay. Silent giving is just to help you develop your idea on what the world needs. The best part of becoming invisible to others or being invisible to others in need is how much lighter you feel. Taking up human space can be heavy at times due to self-imposed responsibilities. And they are all choices – no matter what you think.

Take Five

Each week this year, read through the suggestions and see how they call out to you.

  1. Do you feel seen?
  2. What are you able to give up easily?
  3. How can you go about deciding how to benefit others?
  4. How can you improve your feelings?
  5. What can you do to lighten your responsibilities?

Come back each day to see if something changes about the effect of an activity. Repeat choices to identify different thoughts. You are not the same person every day. Your life shouldn’t be either.
