NEXT Intention

I really mean it this time

Start out with the easy ones

Making and keeping intentions can be difficult. First, you have to think them up and then you have to remember that you made stuff up. If that works well, you have to remember to do the stuff and the world wants you to be grateful for getting to that point. So much to think about. Let’s go an easier route. Crush the alarm and sit up in bed. Dangle your feet. If you can pause at this point, you are already ahead. Sometimes cats, dogs and kids have expectations that you think have to come first. Grow up. Just dangle and try not to react to the meowing, barking or crying. Especially if it is you who is crying. Wiggle your toes as entertainment and think one thought. Just one. That is your intention. Even if the intention is just to get out of bed, do it. Sometimes when stuff starts small enough, it looks lonely enough to need a friend. The goal setting genius in you may be underwhelmed and want to add on right away. Hold off and get out of bed. That will at least complete your intention. Taking twenty steps might be the next one. Counting along is more entertainment and distraction. It’s funny how the distractions are just funnier intentions. Now you are off to a good start. Whether you continue or not is up to you. Maybe a bunch of completed little intentions will remind you how successful you are at getting stuff done when you want to. You have to start somewhere.

Little intentions make up a great life. All great big things started small. Even you.

You can skip ahead

Option #1: What will be your next itty-bitty intention?

Option #2: Do intentions provide any benefit?

Option #3: What can you change in your life through intention?

That’s it. After you choose the option that best describes how intentions flow in your life, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
