Today Again

The viral roller coaster is climbing another steep hill. Since the ride has been in operation continuously for well over a year, we should not be surprised by the bend ahead. We could think about being in awe that it is so resilient and still able to run through any kind of weather. We initially responded by creating more resiliency in ourselves. Most of the time. After all, we aren’t made of steel. We weren’t designed on a computer. We are human. Humans get tired.

Today Forever

Stress doesn’t magically disappear. But it didn’t do that before the pandemic either. We still woke up everyday to uncertainty and managed to grab the keys, start the car and take the phone with us to do what had to be done. If you experienced loneliness, happiness, migraines, refreshing bike rides or anything else before lockdown, they are still available. Even now, people respond with whatever part of their personality is in charge on a given day. Some days we are warriors and some days not. Each day has its own weird feel. A lot of days have run together from boredom. That’s when possible options must take formation in our thoughts. But magic requires a little muscle. Unless you live the life of a creative, it is difficult to see yourself that way. You have to rethink your approach to get to a different place.

Create a New Day

Even forced creativity develops new results. The pandemic still requires that we do what we gotta do. Rethinking what that is may provide the output needed to motivate you to start a whole new process. It might even be something that improves your life. Every idea will not come from a formal review; some change is created just because it makes more sense. The little things in everyday life add variety to our lives. Variety reduces boredom. It is possible to increase your personal belief about how creative you are without even picking up a crayon.

Day Dreaming

In school you may have been accused of daydreaming based on the fact that you stared out the window a lot. We should start encouraging that type of behavior instead of acting like there is something nefarious going on. This inward need of ours is a path to feeling more fulfilled by expanding our thoughts. Imagine if you were told to rewrite the end of your favorite fairy tale. I bet there would be a lot more families with grandmothers in condos in the city. The point is your creativity can be used anywhere. You have permission to light a flame under the part of you that seeks to try something new.

Do you limit your creativity because you have an old belief that you are not creative? Does creativity help you define who you really want to be? If you allowed yourself to daydream, where would that lead?
