Get stronger
Resistance is Key
Thinking that you are unable to do something can feel like a weakness. But if you can think of it as a base to improve strength, it becomes one of those typical levels you hear about from a trainer. The statement that is often repeated is how to recognize change at two weeks, six weeks and so on. Logically, change is inevitable if you just do something differently. Those little aches in the beginning are a signal to keep going. Any real acknowledgement of getting stronger feels like an epiphany which helps to propel further change. It is always just that first couple of steps. And it feels especially easy to give up at the start of anything because nothing has improved. Resisting stopping at that point is key. A day or two of a break is just a chance to restart, not to give in. Restarting is resisting the old ways. It may take looking at the situation with a different angle, leveraging existing strength in an odd way or abandoning a past method so that it does not seem familiar at all. That will even make it your invention. Check for yellow lights. When you hit a patch, put on those glasses and move with more design. Resistance isn’t futile. It is fuel.
I can feel it
Option #1: What does fighting yourself feel like?
Option #2: Are you irresistible?
Option #3: Can you win an argument with yourself?
That’s it. After you choose the option that best describes your resistance levels, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
