New Math

Constant Examination

Let me give you an alternate thought about testing. There is little surprise when students express anxiety about being tested. Spoiler alert. Life is a constant test. It kinda makes you think that humans should be better at giving the right answers. Humans tend to think about bigger problems as needing bigger solutions. But not necessarily so. There are times when the simpler answers to the most complex equations as the easiest to understand. When there is less to calculate, the chances of reaching the working sum increases. Applying that logic to life, it would make more sense to try to find less invasive methods to diagnose the best way to handle the multitude of daily tests. If possible, start with the reduced effort. It may cost less both figuratively and literally. Even better, the sleight of hand may seem magical. Remember, the first few years of life allow humans to ask questions. Totally expected. The rest of life requires a constant flow of answers. Math should involve curiosity. Especially when you have to show your work.

Sums

Option #1: Do you think you can provide simpler answers?

Option #2: Do you like to blurt out the right answer?

Option #3: What can you do to be more logical?

That’s it. After you choose the option that best describes how you choose your answers in life, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
