Ordinary Good People

They are out there

Step right up

Good is by definition a moving target. It is super sneaky and means something different to everyone. It can bend without breaking. When it is attached as a description to a living breathing human, it can be interpreted on many levels. If you want to be a good person, you may have to abide by some rules. No one has the complete definition of those guides. That may be by design so that many can meet the benchmark. Humans use mass as confirmation. But thinking about what makes people good is such a sweet task. It is nice to say nice things about others. Let’s keep that up. And let’s enlarge that whole genre to include as many as possible. Surrounding yourself with those who reflect your values is comforting. It is a good club to be a part of. If it is possible to think that there is just this one designation, luck has won out. We can all be good people together.

Take Five

Each week this year, read through the suggestions and see how they call out to you.

  1. Can you name a good person?
  2. Are you a good person?
  3. Is being good too low a standard?
  4. What makes a human lose their designation as a good person?
  5. Can humans all rise above being good?

Come back each day to see if something changes about the effect of an activity. Repeat choices to identify different thoughts. You are not the same person every day. Your life shouldn’t be either.

Live Alive.
