Ordinary Heart

Stay with the beat

Celebrate every thump

February is the month of love. The highs and lows of expectations clash with the idea of our heart’s desires. The organ associated with these loving feelings is an oddly shaped one that often represents life as well as love. They do go well together. When you place your hand on your heart and listen carefully, it is easier to be reminded of the immense importance of this squishy pumper. Drawings of hearts do not match up with reality. But we often use our hearts to steer us in life and love. Our love does not stop when the beating does. It goes on and on with those who gratefully continue to enjoy it. One of the secrets of the heart is that it does not notify us constantly unless it needs something. If it is breaking, either literally or figuratively, it sounds an alarm and physically speaking, can be checked. There is no such test for the type of heartache from changing love. This is your chance to think about your heart. If you can make it skip a beat for your self-love, go ahead.

The heart plays so many roles. More than one option may resonate with you.

Say I Love You often

Option #1: Is your heart mostly about your feelings?

Option #2: Is your heart made up of your beliefs?

Option #3: Is your heart primarily an organ?

That’s it. After you choose the option or options that best describe how you think about your heart, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
