No key needed
Am I in or outside?
Most days, the door is locked. We move through life behind schedules, plans, passwords, habits—safe inside our own predictability. But sometimes, the door isn’t locked. Someone calls you unexpectedly and you answer. You say yes to a walk even though you were tired. You speak the truth even though you were taught not to. That unlocked door might lead to a conversation that rearranges your heart. Or a detour that feels like a homecoming. Or simply a moment that reminds you you’re alive—not just existing. We worry about leaving things undone, unguarded, unfinished. But not every door has to be latched. Some are meant to swing open and startle us into something new. And maybe the best parts of ourselves—the ones that laugh a little louder or risk being known—are waiting on the other side. So if you feel a crack of light today, lean in. Turn the knob. See what happens.
Take Five
Each week this year, read through the suggestions and see how they call out to you.
- Where are you locked out?
- What is the key to you?
- What part of you stays locked out?
- How can you let some people in and others out?
- What is the easiest way to get close to you?
Come back each day to see if something changes about the effect of an activity. Repeat choices to identify different thoughts. You are not the same person every day. Your life shouldn’t be either.
