Ordinary Ownership

Worthy

Add it up

Humans own material things willingly. But there is much more that is worthy about being a human. Humans own themselves. Definitely more precious than anything you can buy online. There are affirmations that repeat how worthy we are. If just repeating something could make me believe it, it would be an excellent mantra. Most of us don’t believe words just because they are repeatable or are written in large cursive letters. When you think about how you treat an object that you really like, it is usually better than those objects that just take up space in your life. Now think about how you treat yourself. If you can determine the price you would pay if you purchased yourself off the shelf, what would that price reflect? When humans act as though they have value, their worthiness increases. And humans do really elevate those they choose to. The real test is to check yourself out in a large mirror. If there is admiration for the way you have cared for this priceless being, you can start to feel well-owned. Humans are not taught early on to place a high enough value on themselves but maybe that is not the point. Maybe the point is to own ourselves properly.

Deserving

Option #1: What are you worth?

Option #2: What makes you valuable?

Option #3: Is there any reason not to admire yourself?

That’s it. After you choose the option that best describes worthiness to you, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
