Ordinary Reach

Within an arm’s length

Almost there

If you put your hand out in front of you right now, would you reach anything? At least, anything you might want to get to. Let’s not count your phone. If you think about it, most humans don’t really need it to live. It’s a great convenience. For centuries, humans lived without phones. Look again. The greatest mystery we have in life is answered in that acquisition. Humans are looking for stuff all of the time. Some days, we search for a purpose. Getting up every day can fill in that blank. Some days, we search for recognition. That’s a little harder to acquire until you start to chat up someone while looking them in the eye. Some days, we search for love. That actually requires us to let down our guard enough to allow some energy to be exchanged. Most humans don’t understand that releasing some of that pent-up energy helps it increase. Oxygen works in many ways for humans. It’s like fuel. Humans search and that’s how the reaching starts. The issue with reaching is that it can be limiting. But as a first move on a length of rope, it gets you one step forward. Knowing that you can advance your reach again continues your ability to keep looking. That’s the real secret. Just keep reaching.

Pull me out

Option #1: What can you describe as something you are reaching for?

Option #2: Why do humans reach for the stars?

Option #3: Who can you reach out and touch meaningfully?

That’s it. After you choose the option that best describes your reach, take a few minutes to describe why you chose that option and what action, if any, may come next.
