Is that me?
So pretty
Reflection isn’t always found in silence. Sometimes, it shows up in noise—the kind that makes you flinch. The memory you can’t outrun. The question you keep answering, but never fully solve. It’s not about gazing into a mirror and liking what you see. It’s about peering beneath the surface and realizing there’s more there than you thought. Messiness. Bravery. Regret. Hope. We often think of reflection as analysis: something methodical, structured, bullet-pointed. But real reflection is emotional. It’s sitting with discomfort long enough to understand where it comes from. It’s pulling apart the tangle of feelings without needing to tie them back up neatly. Reflection is a quiet rebellion. It asks you to slow down in a world that rewards rushing. It dares you to see yourself without filters or disclaimers. And yet, it’s not always solitary. Sometimes reflection happens in conversation—with a friend, a notebook, a long walk with no destination. Sometimes it arrives uninvited, triggered by a song, a scent, a sunset that makes you wish you’d said more when you had the chance. So today, reflect—not to judge, but to understand. Let your thoughts wander. Let your heart speak without interruption. And if what you find isn’t tidy or triumphant, let that be okay. Because reflection isn’t about answers. It’s about finding the courage to ask the question.
Take Five
Each week this year, read through the suggestions and see how they call out to you.
- What was your first thought today?
- What is rattling around in your mind?
- What helps you see you?
- How do you sound when you need to hear yourself?
- What do you think is your best side?
Come back each day to see if something changes about the effect of an activity. Repeat choices to identify different thoughts. You are not the same person every day. Your life shouldn’t be either.
