No sleep involved
Thinking back, my first impossible dream may have been for my children to eat more vegetables. There is the possibility that I did not cook enough of them for each meal. One of them only ate vegetables for a whole year. But that did not last. Or maybe the lack of vegetables was just a daydream for me. They physically grew up and were never very ill. My most recent impossible dream involved moving. A daunting adult task. Accepting the fact that you have to pack up your accumulated belongings actually includes rooting through them to get rid of some, wonder where some came from and then get them to another home. Tasks upon tasks. But I needed to downsize from a large home to a more rightsized home. It took a lot of huffing and puffing. And movers. Now I am trying to determine what my next impossible dream will be. Because the days keep changing and life moves ahead. I am not really in the mood for a giant dream so I might focus on a medium-sized one. Rightsized. At this point, I think a newish hobby that looked doable will do the trick. I accept that my progress will be bumpy at the start. But at some point, it will not be impossible.
You are Extraordinary!
Week 6: This week, dream a little dream.
Choosing a dream that follows the work of moving is helping me learn to enjoy my new home because it is creating good feelings in a new environment. Whenever circumstances change, there is a small window of time to set new habits. I tend to get into strange routines about eating the same breakfast, working out the same way or reading similar genres. Change means deliberate action. This is a terrific exercise to do with three little everyday current habits. Buy some new jam for your toast, switch up coffee flavors, wear those clothes that are hiding in the back of the closet. Just the action of doing something new will create a couple thoughts.
Sweet dreams.
