Don’t Clean

It’s not dirty

All messes are not a mistake. If you have ever visited a museum and wondered what the artist was thinking, you understand what I mean. Chaos can be acceptable. Organization can be over emphasized. Life has edges and smooth parts. Meaning doesn’t wait for you to finish doing the dishes. It just pops up when it is least expected and your mind could untangle it. Forgettable things have meaning. Don’t try to recapture everything you think you should. But notice laughter, the sound of the refrigerator opening, the stubborn way that a mosquito keeps trying to land on you and when you last felt hungry. These little bitty bites of life are the real deal. The small stuff is trying its best to save us. Take a deep breath and then another. Have you noticed how different those are from those shallow ones you use to breathe normally? Forget trying to transcend. Lay down and see what is on the floor.

You are Extraordinary!

Week 34: Straighten up just a little

If your mind is constantly swirling around with chores that you haven’t finished, sit down and breathe. Deeply, if possible. Have you ever considered the fact that you are doing too much? And you don’t know how this all started? Just don’t do what you think you have to for a day or two. You will be thrown into the pool of knowledge. The real stuff that has to be done will be evident. And those around you will wonder what is going on with you. Two great results.
