News to me
We’re always becoming someone new, even on days that feel repetitive. Every experience nudges us a little. Every conversation shifts something. Every disappointment, every joy, every ordinary moment adds a layer or removes one. We don’t stay the same because we’re not meant to. And the selves we leave behind? They’re not mistakes. They’re chapters. Necessary ones. They carried us as far as they could. Maybe the real work isn’t to cling to who we were or rush toward who we’re becoming. Maybe it’s simply to notice the quiet transitions. To say, “I don’t need that anymore.” Or, “That mattered once, and that’s enough.” Or even, “I’m different now, and that’s okay.” Growth doesn’t always feel like growth. Sometimes it feels like letting go of something you didn’t realize you were holding.
You are Extraordinary!
Week 37: I recognize you
There’s something tender about the things we outgrow without noticing. They remind us that change doesn’t always require effort. Sometimes it just requires time. And maybe the most ordinary, extraordinary thing about being human is that we’re always evolving — even when we’re not trying to. We all shed our skin like snakes. And you know how beloved they are. That outer shell grows back with our gradual progress. That is good to remember for the next time I look at my wrinkly skin and wonder where it came from.
