Meaningful

You have to mean it

The term mindful is an ancient word used to signify a depth of the spirit. I have used mindful and mindfulness in discussions with humans in coaching because they are generally familiar with it. For myself, I tend to like a different term. This week, it’s time to stray away from the everyday and see how this newer method helps create its own depth. Although it is more traditional to be grateful and keep lists of what we are thankful for, I have recently focused on keeping track of daily events with a new perspective. I seek out a meaningful moment. Oddly, this can be framed as positive or negative, but it is something that happened with meaning. Sometimes, lasting meaning. There’s the bigger change. There is still such depth using this viewpoint and the newness makes my brain cells resist the items I usually like to be grateful for. I am forever thankful for some of them, but that daily listing can get repetitive. I know that you can name multiple meaningful days in your life already so this is not a difficult switch. Thinking about what means a lot to each of us is very specific. It also sheds some light on what we may want to see more clearly.

You are Extraordinary!

Week 15: Another way

This is one of these ongoing monthly points that create more change than the other weekly tasks. Although I like to think that every week change is possible with some subtle shift, that seems improbable. This task requires a mind shift. My head is fairly thick at times. I can be an expert at resistance to change when it is my choice. Using meaningful as my daily word really opened my eyes and brain to how I can update my own practice. Pause and consider what a daily practice change might offer without sliding down the hill about having to learn something new. Our human brains like a little poke now and then. This is a meaningful week. Thank you for playing along.
